Holiday Candy This candy is so good and super easy Solid vegetable shortening - something like Crisco - for thinning 1 bag chocolate chips - or chocolate almond bark 1 bag white chocolate chips - or white vanilla almond bark Wilton candy chips Optional; teaspoon of whole ground coffee - decaf works too ;o) abouty 1/2 cup Chopped nuts - any kind I usually do this recipe with just the white and dark chocolate - but this time I tried something new with the orange Wilton candy chips. Line a cookie sheet or a flat pan with wax paper. CAREFULLY melt the chocolate and white chips in separate bowls. Add one or two teaspoons of the shortening to each bowl of chips. Set the bowls over a pan in water (double boiler) on low heat, OR - melt in microwave for 30 seconds then stir. Continue melting in 30 second intervals stirring until melted. The candy will burn quickly in the microwave if it gets too hot. The chips wont get real thin. Once soft enough stir the coffee into the chocolate. With a spatula spread two rows of each color onto the cookie sheet. With a spoon swirl the colors together and sprinkle the nuts on top. Cool in the fridge for about an hour or so. :0) Then break it up into pieces! Everybody loves this candy and eats it up at Christmas. I added the orange for Thanksgiving. Try red, white, and chocolate for Christmas.
